Twin & Triple Shared Rooms
If selecting the twin or triple shared option, the room must be occupied by 2 or 3 adults respectively. Note that we are unable to allocate room-mates for twin & triple shared rooms at this event so please specify your room-mate(s) at the time of booking if you select this option. Note that “twin” and “triple” rooms are simply 6-8 bunk-bed style dormitory rooms which will be limited for use by those who have booked them. Please note that no pillow or bedding is provided so please ensure that you bring them along.

Dormitory
Please note that all dormitories contain 6-8 beds (bunk-style). Your room-mates will be allocated, however if you’d like to share with someone in particular please let us know via email at bookings@meditateinsydney.org. Please note that no pillow or bedding is provided so please ensure that you bring them along.

Camping
Please note that camping equipment is not provided. The campsite is approximately 5min walk to the main complex.

Off-site
Please note that accommodation is not included in this booking option. If you would like assistance with accommodation suggestions and travel information please feel free to contact KMC Sydney at any time.

The Location

The Regional Weekend Away will be held at the Crosslands Youth & Convention Centre, 100 Crosslands Rd, Galston NSW, (see Google Map).

Getting there by car
For those who plan to travel by car, the easiest way to drive to Crosslands Youth & Convention Centre is to make your way to the end of Crosslands Road, (note that you cannot access the venue via Somerville Road). Note that as you enter Berowra Valley National Park the last 10 minutes of your drive will take you onto portions of narrow, steep and unsealed road so please drive slowly and with care, particularly when driving at night. If possible arrive before dusk so as to make the journey easier. Once you arrive there is ample parking on-site.

Getting there by train
For those who would like to catch public transport we will be providing a limited number of pick-up/drop-off services from/to Hornsby Train Station (30 minute journey time) for $10 each way. Note that you are encouraged to drive and carpool if possible due to the limited spaces that are available on these shuttle services.

Site Restrictions
Please note that the following restrictions have been specified in the conditions of hire for the venue and will be strictly enforced by the venue manager:

  • No cigarettes, alcohol, drugs or chewing gum are allowed on the property
  • Roads and access ways are to be kept clear for emergency and service vehicles at all times
  • No pets are allowed on-site at any time

Mobility
Please note that the Crosslands Venue is quite hilly and as such may be difficult for people who have issues with mobility. If you have any concerns about mobility please call KMC Sydney for more information.

Arrival

Note that the event venue does not allow arrivals before 4pm on Friday, 13 Sep, we therefore recommend an arrival time between 4-7:30pm for registration. Please keep in mind that the area may be unfamiliar to you and the roads are dark at night so please aim to arrive prior to sunset to make your journey easier.

Meals

The course fee includes the cost of all meals, (breakfast, lunch and dinner). All meals served throughout this event will be vegan – and delicious! If you would like the gluten free meal option please indicate this at the time booking (there is a small additional $8 surcharge associated with this). Please note that we are unable to cater for any special dietary requirements other than these.

Timetable

The weekend timetable is yet to be finalised at this stage, however the weekend will begin with dinner and an introduction on Friday evening. The weekend will come to an end with lunch on Sunday. The final retreat timetable will be confirmed in your formal confirmation letter 1-2 weeks prior to the event.

Note that attendees will be seated in chairs during teaching/meditation sessions.

Mobile Phone Access

Please be aware that mobile phone access at the event venue is very poor.

Mobility

Note that some areas of the Noonaweena site are quite hilly, and as such some of the accommodation may be difficult to access if you have problems with mobility. For more information about this please get in touch by phone (9699 9902) or email (bookings@meditateinsydney.org).

Confirmation Letter

You will receive a payment receipt by email shortly after submitting your booking. Closer to the date of the event you will be sent a formal confirmation letter containing the event timetable and more detailed information about the weekend.

Cancellations

Up to 75% of the course fee may be refunded if you cancel your booking by Friday, 6 Sep. All cancellations are required to be made in writing to bookings@meditateinsydney.org.
