“When we die, our mind has to leave this present body, which is just a temporary abode, and find another body, rather like a bird leaving one nest to fly to another.” – Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
The one thing we all know for certain is that we are going to die, and that we do not know when this will happen. If we are to live without fearing our death, we need to understand what happens when we die and how we can prepare so that at the time of death we know how to take our mind to our next life in a positive way. This understanding enables us to bring great benefit to our friends and family when they die, which is the kindest thing we can ever do for them.
Join us for this morning course and hear precious teachings on the Buddhist explanation of the death process, how we can prepare for our death and how we can help those who are dying. Living with an awareness of death leads us to a more meaningful life. Those attending the morning teachings also have the option to stay for the afternoon’s guided meditation retreat. Everybody is welcome to attend, regardless of experience.
The Teacher
The Teacher of this course is Gen Kelsang Lhachog, the Resident Teacher at the KMC Sydney in Surry Hills. With over 20 years experience in meditation, Gen Lhachog explains Buddha’s teachings in a way that is practical, clear and easy to apply to our daily life.
