Classes

Our drop in classes offer the chance to learn how to train in meditation. As our mind becomes more peaceful through this practice, we develop the ability to stay happy and positive all the time, even in the most difficult circumstances.

Each class is drop-in and stands on its own merits – you don’t need to attend a whole monthly course. Classes consist of two guided meditations, simple instructions on how to meditate and advice on how to keep the peace of mind you develop in meditation. There is plenty of opportunity to discuss and ask questions. No special clothes are needed and you are welcome to sit in a chair or on a cushion on the floor. After class you are welcome to stay for a chat over tea. There is a pop up shop at each class selling books, CDs and other items.

We also offer weekly classes in Charmhaven, Holgate, Umina and Woy Woy.

Please note that our Sunday drop-in class ‘Living Meaningfully, Dying Joyfully’ has been suspended until 2020. We will provide more information about when this class will resume soon – watch this space!

Which Class do we recommend for you?

Everybody is welcome to try our classes, whether you have had previous experience with meditation or not. These classes are drop-in, no booking is necessary.

Tuesday Daytime Class suites people wishing to take a break and deepen their peace during the day.

Wednesday Evening Classes are practical and simple classes suitable for all levels. Each month a new topic is presented, giving us an opportunity to expand on our understanding of meditation & Buddhism.

Foundation Program is a Sunday study class looking at the text ‘Meaningful to Behold‘ or a Thursday study class looking at the text ‘Universal Compassion’. This systematic structure of study allows us to look more deeply into Buddhist teachings. Perfect for those wishing to go deeper into their Buddhist study, please contact us to find our more about this committed program.

Kelsang Monlam

Kelsang Monlam

Kelsang Monlam is the Resident Teacher of Khedrubje Kadampa Buddhist Centre. She is an Australian Buddhist Nun who has been studying and practicing Buddhism for 13 years.
Kelsang Monlam is well-loved for her deep and insightful wisdom, humour and example of pure Buddhist practice. She presents Buddha’s teachings in a light and practical manner, inspiring students to incorporate them into everyday life.

Location

There has been a change of location for our Wamberal classes. Our Tuesday daytime class and Wednesday evening class are now held at Terrigal Rotary Hall, 75 Duffys Road, Terrigal.
